The blinker switch was exactly the same as the switch I removed. It installed perfectly and I will see how it works out in the long run.

The replacement part arrived shortly after I ordered it. My original problem was that after a turn and the switch returned to the neutral position the turn signal relay would continue to click at a higher rate indicating a voltage leakage problem in the original switch. The Subaru mechanic told me that this is a major problem and that he would have to remove the steering wheel, troubleshoot and replace the harness and the switch at a cost exceeding $400.00. I did not want to spend that much and felt that I understood the problem better than the factory trained mechanic that wanted to rake me over the coals. I removed the 5 screws necessary to replace this switch, removed the old switch, installed the new switch reinstalled the 5 screws and covers and now every thing works just fine. The new switch takes a little more effort to operate, but everything works perfectly and the turn-signal relay no longer chatters after the turn signal cancels. I saved close to $500.00 by doing this job myself even at 81 years old. Beware of expert factory trained mechanics as these same factory experts also wanted to change my catalytic converter for a few thousand dollars. instead I replaced the PCV Valve and hose, checked the fuel cap and the check engine light went out and did not relight total cost less than $10.00. Be aware of these experts and study the situation by checking the problem on the internet before paying big dollars to the so called experts. I spent 26 years in the Seabees as a heavy equipment mechanic and did learn how to be a little more analytic than these so called experts. You to can research the problem before spending your hard earned money on know nothing experts that want to troubleshoot at your expense when it is not necessary. Research and save.
